To refund part or all of a payment, the seller can use PayPal's 'Refund Payment' link. The buyer's source of funds will be credited and the seller will not need to pay any fees associated with the transaction. If you're unable to resolve a dispute directly with a seller, you may be protected up to £500 with buyer protection on eBay when you pay with PayPal.
Buyer protection protects against items not received and items that are significantly different to the seller's item description. There are some conditions for protection: You must file a dispute within 45 days of payment, the item must be tangible (i.e. not a service or download) and your account must be in good standing. PayPal's dispute team will review your claim and may award up to £150. Items sold by eligible sellers may be covered up to £500.
