至于为何这个设定不合理，只要考虑一下高等吸血鬼的数量就很清楚了。
小说中，雷吉斯为了驳斥“被吸血鬼咬了会变吸血鬼”这个谣言时提到了，天球交会那次到这颗星球的高等吸血鬼有2200.时间大约 在1500年之前。雷吉斯428岁，所以他是诞生在这个世界的吸血鬼，这表示吸血鬼是会繁殖的。
但他们不会老死，不会被杀，所以数量只会增加不会减少。
428岁的雷吉斯说往事时，提到自己“年青时”，那么他自认为不年轻，可能214岁之前才叫年青。我姑且认为吸血鬼250年繁殖一代，1500年够繁殖至少六代（假设刚到的那一年还不能繁殖）。
那么2200鬼，六代鬼后是多少鬼呢？是25059鬼。假设300年一代，也有16706鬼。
这还只是假设每两位吸血鬼只生下一位后代，并且从此不再生育。
而实际上，他们可能诞生很多后代，这样吸血鬼的数量可以指数型增长。
这样的高等吸血鬼哪天把这颗星球占满了也不奇怪，他们可以成立帝国，奴役或者消灭其它物种。

简而言之，游戏中新加的设定：只有高等吸血鬼才能杀死高等吸血鬼，严格说来 是不合理的，它只是为了把人气角色雷吉斯带回来而加的一个设定。而围绕高等吸血鬼之间建立的剧情也算成功。
