Since the last month, the development is going well. I think by the end of this month, most of the big gameplay features will be finished. Top-down rendering mode has been implemented so you can explore north tyris like you did in Elona. Random dungeons, fixed maps and opening scene have been also added. This game is more RPG than DF style game now(with robust home building feature) so I am sorry for those who expected a DF game. I hope I can keep up this pace!
直到上一个月,开发进度一直都在稳步推进。我觉得到这个月底,大部分游戏玩法方面的特性都可以完成了。现在已经实现了自上而下的渲染模式,所以你可以像Elona中一样探索北提里斯了。随机地牢、固定地图和开放场景也已经加进游戏。现在这个游戏更像一个RPG,而不是一个类矮人要塞游戏了(但同时它有很强的建造系统),所以期待它是一个类矮人要塞游戏的人可能会失望了。我希望我可以保持这个节奏继续推进!

* 现在看起来,游戏和一开始Noa的设想已经大相径庭,和第一版的Demo区别也很大,游戏本身可能越来越偏向几年前的那个游戏Elin了。比起DF,Noa可能还是更擅长整一些RPG的玩意儿。

      Had some difficulty with the development earlier this month but starting to regain motivation. The size of the global map is currently 184x184 which covers the whole tyris continent(including Mayroon and Zanan) . It takes only 0.1sec to load the map on my pc so I think it's possible to further extend the size and cover the entire Ylva if needed. Which leads me to think, maybe there could be some transport services like ships and airships at some point in the future. I got little excited and actually went to search for airship BGM(a big fan of FF here).On the other hand, much smaller map sizes seem to be appropriate for local maps. Towns and dungeons should be about just slightly bigger than ones in Elona.Below, NZ has done a good job of making head-on-a-stick and meatbags(from fallout).

        It seems the old post got archived. So it's been almost a year since this forum has been created. Thank you for visiting here, and sorry for the lack of demo. I want the next demo to be playable as a game so it's going to take little more time.

          而Elona中开始的年份是517

            @-一---丶 你猜得很准,我刚刚问了一下Noa,他说已经在计划改名了,下一次日志放送的时候会提到。因为“Elin's Inn”听起来就像一个经营类游戏,而现在这个游戏实际上是一个带有小镇建设(想想Elona中被废案的城镇管理板)的RPG游戏
            我倒是不期望这个游戏名又改成Elin,因为这个名字带着名为弃坑的诅咒

              各位中秋国庆快乐。

              Been making a first town for a week and probably it will take another week. The first town takes time since many new town-related features(quests, conversation, new editor tools etc) are added along with the map itself. Once it's finished, second town will only take a day or so(I hope).
              Some of the new features are:
              ~ Added terrain editor. You can raise, lower or flatten grounds.
              ~ Freestyle placement where you can place items/furniture freely on a tile. Useful when placing small things on a table or placing furniture along wall sides. (You can see them on the screenshot)
              ~ Added underlying D20 system. It's still experimental but most of the skill/ability checks should be using this system. It's "underlying" because skill values you see on your character sheets are like ones in Elona and the values can go very large but internally when performing skill checks they are converted to suitable values for D20( just square rooting the numbers right now)
              游戏的第一个城镇,我已经做了一周了,而且很可能还需要再做一周。第一个城镇比较耗时间,因为我需要在制作地图的同时为其添加许多关于城镇的特性(任务,人物对话,以及新的编辑工具等等)。一旦第一个城镇完成后,第二个城镇只需要数天即可完成(我期望如此)。
              这里是一些新特性:
              ~ 加入了地形编辑器,你可以抬高、拉低或整平土地。
              ~ 你可以在地块上自由地放置任何道具/家具。这对于把小东西放在桌子上或者沿着墙角摆放家具很有用(你可以看看下面的截图)
              ~ 加入了隐藏的D20系统(投掷一个20面的骰子,取结果)。这是一个实验性质的系统,但绝大多数的技能/能力检查都会借助于此。这是一个“隐藏的”系统,因为记载人物面板看到的技能数据会和Elona的一样,你的数据可以提升到非常高。但在系统内部进行技能投骰检查时,技能的点数会被转化成合适的数字为D20所用(现在仅仅是对数值开平方)

                I'm sorry for not having you kept updated. I wasn't feeling well last month and stayed well away from the development lest I push too hard and burn out. I fear it will still take few days until full recovery but I intend to finish this game.
                我都不用翻译了,大概意思就是由于心情不太好摸了一个月的鱼可能还需要一段时间才能恢复状态,但Noa确实想把游戏完成。

                  It's been a while since the UI was last introduced so here's how the main skin looks like. Also, adding deeds for land right now. Deeds work much like they did in Elona. You can purchase a deed and use it on a map to claim a land, then start building your home, town, inn, etc. There could be changes but atm at the start of the game you will be joining a certain faction and given a free fief. And the main story progresses as your home land grows.
                  自从我设计这一套UI已经有一些时间了,下图展示了新UI的样子。我在游戏中加入了产权书,产权书和Elona中的非常像,你可以购买一份产权书,然后在大地图上选择一块土地来建造你的设施,如小镇、旅馆等等。在一开始你会加入一个部落,并获得一块免费的封地。游戏的主线剧情会随着你居住所的不断扩张而推进。

                    I've been working on the main story for some time. I know the stories of Elona/Elin are not something everyone enjoys and I do also often skip dialogues when playing RPGs but personally, I think it still adds up to the game's overall feel even if you skip and only catch glimpse of the scenes. And it's becoming the biggest source of motivation for me to expand the world and the main story of Elona. So I hope you will forgive me that there won't be new screenshots for some while while I'm working on it.
                    The setting of the game/story has been changed and the story directly relates to the Elona's now.
                    最近我在进行主线剧情方面的工作。我知道并不是所有人都喜欢Elona/Elin的故事线,同时我自己在玩RPG游戏时也会忽略很多游戏的剧情细节。但我觉得游戏的剧情只要你稍微瞥一眼,便能提高你对这个游戏整体的感受。这也是促使我为Elona这个世界的主线剧情添砖加瓦的动力。希望你们能原谅我这次没带来新的截图,因为我还在工作中。
                    目前这个游戏的设定和背景故事都被改动过,现在它的世界观与Elona直接相关。

                      * 发生了一些很不好的事情,Noa目前正遭受不明的骚扰。他本人并没有过多描述这种骚扰是怎么进行的,但看得出他现在饱受其害,并且难以在这种情况下继续从事开发工作。如果有朋友明白在日本受到这种骚扰意味着什么,或者在日本如何保护自己不受骚扰所害,希望能去Reddit上联系Noa,帮帮他。
                      楼主我自认为对这件事无能为力,只能在背后祝福Noa能挺过难关。

                      Happy xms and here are some of the sketches NZ and I have been doing until last week. Last week, I have become the target of electronic harassment and I do not know in other countries but here in Japan there are no laws to protect from attackers using electronic devices and those sort of things are considered urban legends or occult. their victims often seen as crazy people. As such, I have no hope to withstand this harassment and under this condition it's impossible to keep developing the game. I've been working on these games(old elin, the farthest sea, and this) for 10 years and creating Elin has been my only passion and the sole purpose in my life so this will very likely force myself to quit my life soon.
                      I have never valued my life so much but for the sake of Elin, if you have any technical/professional knowledge about this matter and think you can help, please contact me.

                      Yes, I'm completely aware how I am received writing something like this. That is why I haven't even told my parents about it yet but the last few days of trying to defend myself from the harassment was enough for me to conclude there's nothing I can do to stop it myself. You may be kind to remember I was a "sane"(I hope!) person enjoying the development of the game and determined to finish it until just a few days ago. Until something I've never believed, something logically can be explained but hard to believe happened.

                        作者更新了一些消息,大致意思是这种骚扰不是在线、网络上的,而是有组织的、物理上的骚扰,我过两天会翻译一下(明天考研了)
                        关于electronic harassment,我查了一下维基百科,这个单词的中文翻译是“脑控”。
                        “脑控”这个词我有所听闻,国内也有不少声称自己遭受脑控攻击的案例,但是这东西是一个彻彻底底的阴谋论说法。至少作为一个马克思主义唯物论者,我是不太相信这种事物存在的。
                        据Noa所说,有关electronic harassment的事件在日本有大量的讨论,在其他国家讨论较少。我不清楚作者究竟遭受了什么样的打击,或是有什么样的心理问题...才会归因到这么一个奇怪的词语上。
                        由于这件事情过于刷新我的认知,比如翻译一个开发者日志翻着翻着扯到神秘主义上去了,我现在心很累...

                          Happy new year! It's the same pic I've uploaded on my twi but here's a cute pic by MT. I wish you the best for this year.
                          I couldn't quite finish the main story but I'm working on gameplay again now as it was the plan.
                          How you interact with game objects has been something I've been thinking over months. The safest option would be just following the Elona's but I wanted to do something new for this game. So the interaction with game objects is going to be something similar to terraria's or rune factory's where you cycle through your tools and use the selected one with one button(click). It would greatly reduce players' labor when doing repeated tasks like mining and gathering. (Though I also like how you interacted with objects in Elona. It had feeling like every action had some significance and feeling of playing retro rpg/roguelike.) There are also several other things where there are multiple ways to implement but hard to decide which. Though I feel good that this one is about to be solved.

                          如何与游戏内的物品交互这件事是我这几个月来一直在考虑的事情。其中最保险的就是遵循Elona的那种互动方式,但我想在这个游戏中加入些新的。所以现在对游戏物品的交互会类似于terraria或者是符文工房,你可以循环切换你的工具,通过按下鼠标就能使用你选择的工具。这会大幅度降低玩家在从事重复作业时的工作量,像挖矿或是采集(尽管我本身也很喜欢在Elona中物品交互的方式,那种每一个动作都被显著区分开来的感觉会让你觉得你在玩一款复古的rpg/roguelike)。有很多东西都可以用多种方式去实现它,这很难让我做出决定。好消息是交互系统大概就这么定下来了。

                            Since the last update, several features have been added such as item blessing/appraising, item quality/artifacts, training, reviving, random adventurers, random sites(zones), trading, researching, random potions/scrolls/spellbooks/rods and etc. Many of them work similar to Elona's but feels somewhat different since UIs and input/interactions are different. I'm currently adding symbol encounter system(just a simple one) to the global map so rather than randomly engaging fights or being ambushed, you can avoid fights if you move carefully.
                            I think I'm making good progress lately and quite motivated partly because I want to finish the game before there will be serious harms to my body/health. I'm probably going to have to thank my harassers in the end though if the game makes it to steam soon. It's kind of funny and ridiculous but the development does seem to be on track now. As those new features are implemented, I remember how much effort and time I've put in Elona and realize how much work there are still to be done with Elin. Hopefully, I can release a demo next month.

                            我认为我最近项目推进非常顺利,且我也动力满满。因为我希望能在遭遇更严重的健康问题之前将游戏完成。如果我的游戏最后能顺利上线steam,我可能会感谢那些骚扰者。虽然这看起来很滑稽且荒谬,但总之开发工作看起来又步入正轨。当这些游戏内的新系统被我实现时,我意识到我在Elona中到底花费了多少心血,同时我也意识到Elin中还有多少欠缺的工作。希望我可以在下个月放出游戏的demo。
                            * 14天加入这么多要素,Noa你是超人吗。看到第二段感觉作者的病情依旧没有好转,作者以此为开发动力让人感觉有点病态...总而言之我个人对作者的开发工作以及作者本人的身体状态感到十分不安,希望下个月能放出Demo,也希望Demo不会让大家失望...

                              It's been a while since the last game screenshot so here it is. Not much new stuff on the pic but it's the etherwind day. In Elin, etherwind doesn't always happen on certain month/day but ether will be slowly accumulated in Vindale and when it goes over threshold(like above 100%) etherwind will be unleashed.
                              Gameplaywise, since the world setting has been changed I'm facing a new problem which is it's now somewhat difficult to introduce new locations and lore to North Tyris as the game begins only about 30 years before elona's story does. Also, the maps in Elin take much more time to create. Many of the locations/towns will be probably *closed* in the initial release but I do want to create all the elona towns in isometric view eventually.
                              距上次放出游戏内截图已经过了很长时间了,所以这里是一张新的。在这张图里没有很多新的东西,不过这是以太之风刮起的日子。在Elin中,以太之风并不会在特定的月份/日子刮起。以太浓度会在温戴尔缓慢的积累,当浓度超过一个界限时(比如超过100%),以太之风就会刮起。
                              因为整个游戏世界都发生了改变,我意识到为距elona世界线30年前的北提里斯设计建筑和世界观是一件很困难的事情。同时Elin中的大地图也需要花费更多精力去设计。所以在游戏的初始版本放出时,许多地区和城镇是“不可进入”的状态,但我很想将Elona中的所有城镇都以等距视图的形式展现在Elin中。

                              * 这游戏现在看起来简直就是Elona2.0
